Did I Learn Search Engine Optimization

when I had to look for a job to experience the really world as what people always say. To start my job hunting journey I scoured classified ads and online job portal websites to find my luck that suits my degree; unfortunately I wasn’t lucky enough. Until a week later when I’m scanning JobStreet website I found a classified ad that was looking for a Data Research Assistant with only 2 years Internet familiarity as a requirement. So, I did not waste any second. I applied online and eventually got hired by the company.

The company offers Internet marketing services and one of these is search engine optimization. As a data research assistant my main responsibilities were to search for keywords to be used for content creation, copyscaping articles and link popularity checking – so lame right?. Still I don’t know what these all about, why I am doing this? Beside for the fact I’m in a payroll to do so. There was no clear introduction or an outline of my job then. But one day my boss introduced me about seo what it is and how important this for a website. Again, I don’t really get it but at least I have now a piece of idea why I’m doing it.

Months later my boss gave me a new task to work on. There was no really in-depth introduction of the new tasks aside from how to make it right. It was then I learned directory submission, social bookmarking, forum posting and blog commenting but I never knew these were a form of link building methods as part of search engine optimization. After several months of working I’ve mastered the art of proper implementation and I was promoted to seo/marketing expert – sweet isn’t it?

Sad to say, the company did not last for long or should I say I did not last for long? Anyways, of my two year experience of basic link building strategies I believe I have now the edge to look for another job that somehow relative to my previous experience.

Luckily, I stumbled a company that was looking for a link building specialist, so I applied immediately. I started my training under an seo consultant for about a week. This was the time when I have a full knowledge of search engine optimization. The holes of my learning have been filled up and the questions have been answered.

During my training period I realized that to become an seo is really a challenge, it is an on going process and you need to be updated. Mastering link building is only a fraction of it. There is so much to be done and to learn, and I would say as an seo myself I still have more things to go through and learn.
